Dragon Dictation is an easy-to-use voice recognition application powered by Dragon® NaturallySpeaking® that allows you to easily speak and instantly see your text or email messages. In fact, it’s up to five (5) times faster than typing on the keyboard.

Pros and cons of Dragon Dictation app for iPhone and iPad

Dragon Dictation app good for

Try saying the punctuation. IE "Im going to the store (period)." Or "what the hell just happened (question mark)."

Now I dont have to type quotes I want to save when reading/studying. Fantastic.

I have troubles writing down what I want to say in class and this helps so much! I can just say it into my phone and email it or copy and paste it and hand it in to my teacher.

I have used this app to send some text messages and post to Facebook. It recognized everything I said and was very fast. For me personally this is a great application.

I own an iPhone 4 and it works perfectly for voice text, voice emailing or just taking a voice notes. I highly recommend it.

Completely forgot I actually used this app before (see my previous review below). I tried using it again and the accuracy blows me away. I recall years ago (?) if I stopped talking (in order to think), it would assume I finished and create a new note. Frustrating. This time around, I didnt experience this issue. Still easier to type, but its great for times when I have writers block (as I never get talkers block). -- Previous review -- Speak slowly and clearly and it will be extremely accurate. Sometimes it does mess up words like it thinks I said "color" when it was actually "dollar" but its hey its minor and this app is free. Way better than typing.

Some bad moments

Found it to have poor voice recognition - granted I have an English accent but not acceptable in my book

It opens to the greyish "waiting" screen and never gets into dictation-ready. Incredibly frustrating as I used this app a lot. When it works its great.

I got to use the app twice on my iPad Retina before the recording screen became dark (not completely black) and unresponsive. Absolutely nothing works, including reinstalling, and the online forums are of no help.

It doesnt understand what Im saying, and the substitutions are not helpful.

Barely ever gets the words I say correct and ever uses punctuation. Even when I pronounce words perfectly. I dont have a foreign accent.

The vocabulary for this program is so limited that its completely unusable.
