Not a high-quality solution

This app works for very short notes, but its both ancient and cumbersome. The app doesnt make use of any of the newer iOS APIs for audio which would allow for background execution. Instead, the app stops recording when the devices display goes to sleep, which makes it pretty useless for extended dictation unless you remember to disable the iOS display lock every time you use it.
