Dragon Dictation App Reviews

I have been using this app on the iPad Mini since yesterday and am very pleased with how it works. Needs very little manual correction. Fast, efficient, "intelligent" and extremely useful. I just dictate the text, using the vocal shortcut commands for punctuation, and literally everything is (almost) perfectly transcribed. It is amazingly fast and accurate. Only pity is, it works only under WiFi connection. It would be great to be able to work even in the absence of internet connection.

Tryied to reinstall. Mission inpossible. Never worked. A great delusion.

I cant believe how basic the wordprocessing portion of this app is. I might as well just use Siri dictation. Also this app looks like it was designed in 1990 and hasnt been updated since. Disappointed.

Please make the app fit on the screen and fix the bug/crash issues.

I got this app so that I could dictate long emails. Unfortunately, when you stop dictating so that you can proofread, the keyboard takes up a third of the screen. That wouldnt be such a problem except that whats under the keyboard doesnt scroll up, so that its difficult if not impossible to access the text under it. As a practical matter, you can really only dictate 2 paragraphs. If theres a way to do that, its not intuitive or user friendly. I havent been able to find it. Other than that, I like the app.

This app does not work well. If you use it I hope you want to revise a lot. The app also messes up the words you say I recommend a different app.

I purchased this a long time ago. I could not get it to dictate very well. So, for me it was a Drag.

The speech recognition works well. But the UI is a little too clunky. I really need to be able to copy text and then come back and dictate something new, without having to switch to keyboard mode select all and clear and then hit record again. It only clears automatically when you send an SMS or email which is silly.

I loved this app right up till I finished my dictation, and decided to email to myself so I could review away from iPad. If you do this, it DELETES the dictation from the app!!! What does it not SAY THAT?!?

This app is horrible

Ive been using it for about 5 months now and it really does what it says. Helped my out a lot. Homework! Reports! Presentations!. It just makes everything faster.

I had high hopes for this app seeing as how Dragon is a highly recognized name and there were some great reviews here. But its not making my transcription easy at all! I have these hour plus files and it craps out after barely 2 minutes. If god forbid it actually did what it was supposed to do and TRANSCRIBE, I get a whole bunch of gibberish. Please make a product that actually works and does what it says it will do.

This app works for very short notes, but its both ancient and cumbersome. The app doesnt make use of any of the newer iOS APIs for audio which would allow for background execution. Instead, the app stops recording when the devices display goes to sleep, which makes it pretty useless for extended dictation unless you remember to disable the iOS display lock every time you use it.

Not bad, not great. When in dictation mode it got 80% of the words correctly. The ones it got wrong were kind of cumbersome to correct and it crashes a lot in editing mode.

You still need to look at the phone to start and stop it. Needs at least a help file. Dont know how to get carriage return/ new line. Dont know how to enter quotes and other special chars. Very slow. Accesses web for each phrase spoken.

I have tried so many times and in so many ways to give this app a valid try. It is so remedial. It will only record maybe every fifth word. It is difficult to use the app as use expect so much more from such a great idea. I get frustrated with the lack of creativity and genius that went into dragon.

I lost pages of notes and hours of work!! When my screen automatically turned off I unlocked my phone and the app had deleted all my notes!

Not any better than what is already on the iPhone. With Dragon, you cant see what it thinks youre saying until after you hit "Done" and then you get to see all the mistakes it made. The iPhone function allows you to see what is being dictated as its happening so you can stop when it makes a mistake.
